Moonlight Shadows

Moonlight’s Shadow:  A poem for my wife

by A. B. Schwamlein

O, for moonlight’s shadow

to gaze upon thy face.

Tossed by ocean’s throw,

enraptured by thy grace.

What dream of beauty,

What perfect passion;

Fire hides in thee.

Whitehot, love’s intention

burns to set us free.

O, hope of love,

love’s hope doth see

greater even the deepest sea.

O love, dare I enough

to draw thee in,

and by my love

thy heart to win?
